Nagi Bird Sanctuary is a 200 hectare wetland in Jamui district of Bihar. The wetland which formed as a result of construction of the Nagi dam, is a prime location for migrating birds in the winter season from October to April. It was declared a bird sanctuary in 1984. It has also been designated as Important Bird Area (IBA) by Birdlife International.

Significance

About 3% of the global population of bar-headed geese are found at Nagi Bird Sanctuary. This was the main reason for being designated as an Important Bird Area. Beyond the cultivated areas, the water body is surrounded by barren, rocky terrain. Consequently, dryland birds like the Indian Courser, Indian Sandgrouse, Yellow-wattled Lapwing and Indian Robin are also spotted here.
